Touch The Heart Uganda is a local partner working with Right2Grow in Uganda and it has recently received the legal status as a reistered NGO thanks to the support of the small grants program. Out of 20 applicants, it emerged as one of the recipients of the grant out of the 6 successful partners, marking a significant milestone in their journey towards making a tangible impact in their community.
Initially operating as a Community-Based Organization (CBO), Touch the Heart Uganda faced inherent limitations that hindered their ability to effectively carry out their mission. One of the primary challenges was the lack of sufficient working equipment necessary for their activities. However, the acquisition of the grant brought about a positive turnaround for the organization.
With the support of the grant, Touch the Heart Uganda has transitioned into a fully registered Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), opening up new avenues for growth and sustainability. Ian Kikomeko, the Team Leader, highlighted the transformative impact of the grant, stating:
We are now a fully registered NGO and have equal opportunities to compete for funding like any other NGO
